Return to the Wild: Preparing Pup Patients for a Second Chance at Life

Live Virtual Program

Wednesday, May 27, noon PT

harbor seal enrichment

From Hawaiian monk seals to harbor seal pups, a patient’s journey from rescue to release includes many milestones. During this moderated panel discussion, you’ll hear from our animal care experts and an animal behavior scientist about how our marine mammal care-givers provide nourishment to starving young animals and then teach them how to be wild seals before releasing them back to their ocean home. And you'll be invited to ask your own questions during this interactive live event.

Speakers:

  • Animal Program Manager at Ke Kai Ola Megan McGinnis
  • Animal Behavior PhD candidate at UC Davis Karli Chudeau
  • Associate Director of Conservation Education Adam Ratner (moderator)

This Marine Science Series event will be broadcast live on The Marine Mammal Center’s Facebook page. You do not need a Facebook account to watch the live broadcast. Just visit the Center’s Facebook page by clicking this link at noon PT on the day of the event.
